Buying a firearm online for the first time can seem like a daunting task. We have compiled the following step-by-step guide to help you navigate the online purchase and transfer process.

Shipping a Firearm can seem very overwhelming. We are here and happy to help!

Whether you are selling a firearm online and need assistance sending it to another dealer for pickup, or if you have made an online purchase and need us to receive the firearm for you, we are here to help.

1). Obtain a copy of the FFL (Federal Firearms License) for the dealer that the firearm is going to be shipped to for pickup. The dealer can email it directly to us.

IMPORTANT: Please be sure they reference your name, the buyers name and/or the firearm being shipped!

2). Bring the firearm into our store. Be sure it is UNLOADED, with no ammunition in the box!!

IMPORTANT: Ammunition may NOT be shipped with the firearm!

3). If you have packaging material you want us to use, that is fine. Please ensure that the box is not sealed.

IMPORTANT: We will need to personally inspect the firearm and contents before shipping.

4). You may select the shipping service/speed/insurance as is appropriate for your item.

5). We will calculate the shipping. Then contact you for payment and provide you with the tracking information at that time.

1). If you purchased through Gun Broker, the seller can download our FFL directly from Gun Broker’s site. That is all they will need to ship the firearm here for receipt and transfer.

2). A number of larger online sellers already have our FFL on file, and will allow you to simply select us at checkout as the dealer you want the item shipped to. If we are listed there, there is nothing more you will need to do, other than watch your tracking and wait for the firearm to arrive here and be processed for pickup. 

IMPORTANT: We recommend calling before you come in for pickup to ensure that your firearm is ready to go.

3). If you are buying through a private individual, or a site that does not provide our information automatically: 

Contact us with the email the seller would like our FFL sent to. This can be sent to us through email, messaging on our website, or via phone. Once we receive that, we will send them a copy of our FFL, and they will be able to ship the firearm here.

IMPORTANT: Please note: Once your tracking announces that your package has arrived, please realize that it made it’s appearance here amongst what is often times dozens of other packages. We will open, log, and process your firearm as quickly as possible, but depending on daily volume, this process could take upwards of 1-2 hours. We know receiving a new purchase is exciting, but please keep this in mind as you schedule your arrival time. Thank you!!

1). Both parties must be present along with the unloaded firearm. Please be sure everyone has their valid PA Driver’s License or PA State ID card that shows current address, or have your yellow address update card.

2). The buyer will have two forms to complete before the background check can be processed. If the buyer’s background check is delayed – please know that both parties will need to return to complete the transaction once we receive approval from the State.

3). If by chance the buyer is “denied”, the seller will need to fill out the appropriate paperwork and pass a background check in order to re-claim the firearm.

  • Shipping – Actual cost of shipping plus $15
  • Internet purchase – $40 plus tax
  • In-Person transfer – $30 plus tax

For all Non Drop-Ship Order items:

If you have Non Drop-Ship product items in your order, please allow 2-3 days additional delivery time for those products.

NOTE: If you have a combination of Drop-Ship & Non Drop-Ship items in your order – you will receive separate tracking numbers for those items.

Archery at Kerper’s

Kerper’s Gun Shop, LLC has expanded into the world of archery. We carry a great selection of Compounds, Crossbows, Broadheads, Arrows and much more.

We have an indoor video archery range set up for shooters to test their skills with their compound bow year-round (no crossbows allowed). The DART video system allows shooters to select from a wide range of hunting scenarios or simply shoot at a bullseye target to zero in a new sight. Available in 15-minute, 30-minute, or 1-hour segments, the range is available to use during all of our normal business hours.
We also offer a range of services for your compound or crossbow, including arrow cutting and full tune-ups. Most work can be completed within two weeks but please note that if we are ordering strings, it can take two weeks or longer to get them in.

Kerper's Gun Shop Non Drop-Ship Items

The majority of Kerper’s products for sale online are Drop-Ship direct from our distributors warehouses, ensuring a timely and guaranteed delivery with tracking and fulfillment information sent directly to your email inbox. 

In the case where our distributors do not drop ship an item or item(s), we will ship those item(s) directly from Kerper’s Gun Shop when they are received by the distributor. Tracking and fulfillment will be sent the same to your email inbox.

Other Non Drop-Ship items may include Kerper’s in-store promotions marked as On Sale or Clearance.

For all Non Drop-Ship items, please allow 2-3 days additional delivery time for those products.

Drop Ship and Non Drop-Ship items are indicated as such on each Product page of our online catalog.
